Facial Cupping Instructions
How does facial cupping work?
Facial cupping works by creating suction to stimulate the skin and underlying muscle tissue. Cups are moved in specific directions which promotes new oxygen-rich blood circulation, releases muscle tension, stimulates lymphatic flow and boosts collagen production. The result: glowing, plump, and healthy skin.
What are the benefits of facial cupping?
Facial cupping is a natural, non-invasive therapy that will:
Detoxify
Brighten & strengthen your skin
Stimulate collagen and elastin production
Smooth fine lines & wrinkles
Decrease ‘puffiness’ and pore sizes
Minimize the appearance of scars
Plump lips
Directions for use:
Cleanse your skin.
Apply a few drops of organic facial oil or oil-based serum to help lubricate your skin.
Gently squeeze the cup and apply it to the skin to create gentle suction; move it in the directions shown in the picture below, starting with the neck and moving up to the forehead.
Cleanse your skin once complete and apply your regular moisturizer.
Some points to keep in mind when facial cupping:
Avoid facial cupping if you are prone to broken capillaries. Do not cup over open sores, warts or acne.
Start with short 5 minute sessions, no more than 3 times/week, to adjust your skin to this new technique.
To prevent bruising:
Lubricate your skin with a facial oil before attaching the cup.
Gently squeeze the cup to provide a low suction, don’t squeeze too hard.
Do not leave the cup stationary for more than a few seconds; keep it moving.
How to clean your cups:
Wash the cups with hot, soapy water (you can use a small brush to reach the smallest areas inside the cups)
Rinse with warm water
Let cups air dry on a clean surface
From time to time you can immerse your cups in the boiling water or disinfect them with sterilizing tablets to make sure they are free from bacteria.
